Spring Wild Appalachian Foraging Walk & Herbal Bitters Workshop

  • Smith Mill Works 22 Smith Mill Road Asheville, NC, 28806 United States (map)

Discover the wild bounty of Appalachia in this hands-on wildcrafting and herbal foraging workshop with botanist Abby Artemisia, where you’ll learn to identify, harvest, and get ideas to prepare native edible & medicinal plants straight from the field and forest. Immerse yourself in the rich traditions of Appalachian herbalism as you reconnect with nature, rediscover ancestral wisdom, and rewild your health.

After a short lunch break, we’ll reconvene for a mini Herbal Bitters workshop. You’ll learn why bitters are so important for digestive health, especially after a long winter of digestive stagnation, and the springwild bitter greens and roots that are perfect for including. Then we’ll demystify the magic of bitters making, so you can make a unique bitters blend to take home and prep your digestion and add to your favorite cocktails or mocktails!

*We teach safe foraging. Anyone can be allergic to anything. You’ll be expected to sign a waiver before the walk.
