Roots + Nuts = Herbs & Food - Bigwitch Indian Cooperative (Whittier, NC)
Sunday, October 17 • 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Sliding Scale $130-200
In the last of the 3 class fall series in Whittier, NC, we'll look at gathering the products of the wild harvest. As the energy of the trees and plants goes all the way back to the roots, the time is right for harvesting to make tonifying medicines and nourishing foods. While abundant nuts provide food in different forms.
Some of the plants we'll be meeting and working with include burdock, sassafras, chestnut, black walnut, and hickory. Wild mushrooms will also be included!
Learn from Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians tribal members along with Botanist & Herbalist, Abby Artemisia.
Lunch will be served with traditional Cherokee/wild foods, and some lodging options are available.
